On the average, 1 in 88 children, 1 in 54 boys have an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Autism. What if you just found out… that 1 child is yours? Do you know what to do next? Do you know what your options are? Do you even know where to start?
While these are difficult questions to answer, they are questions that approximately 730,000 families across the United States have had to answer within the last 2 decades. However, while the answers to these questions can be found, the answers, themselves, can seem impossible to locate for someone who doesn’t know where to begin looking. Countless hours, days, weeks, and even months can be spent searching for the right answers, the right paths to pursue, and the right treatments to begin. Many paths lead to a dead-end. Few paths lead to something pertinent and directly applicable to an individual family’s circumstances, location, and medical diagnosis.
It is through experiences like these that Texas Autism, Inc. was founded by one family who did not want other families to go through the burdensome and emotionally-exhausting experiences mentioned above. The mere process of trying to piece together a puzzle without knowing the location of any of the pieces, or even how to piece them together in the first place, is a disheartening task. That is why we are here.
Our mission is simple:
1. Educate Parents and Families
2. Partner with Therapists and Medical Professionals
3. Provide Autism-related resources
4. Raise Community Awareness
